I have had an interest in Dungeons and Dragons for more than ten years. Over the years, I have tried various style of running games and have found that the main goal for a DM should be to provide fun for their players. To me, D&D has always been a game of creating and living in a world that would otherwise never exist. As the DM, I have the most imaginative influence, but it is extremely important to me to allow my players to have imaginative liberties; this is in fact their world just as much as it is mine. Often times, I will have the players tell me what they see rather than me telling them what they see. Without the players, the world is but a lonely place for the DM, so I will always encourage fun and imagination over strict rules and guidelines.
